Richard Pugh of Cae'n-y-waun Maesmynis
« on: Thursday 04 October 12 12:25 BST (UK) »

Hi!
I found the following Church reference to a family of Pugh's in Maesmynis who I am interested in, since my own family lived nearby in Llanfihangel Nant Bran in the early 1700s. The reference deals with tithes payable to the Church and identifies Richard Pugh, father of Howell b. 1744, Thomas b. 1747, Margaret b. 1749, Rees b. 1752, and Samuel b. 1759.

The reference is dated 1754 Dec. 31
Citees:   (1) Rd. Pugh of Corn y Wain Maesmynis, yeo.

This may be Cae'n-y-waun (or Carnwaun) Maesmynis.

I researched the Maesmynis Bishop's Transcripts at the Library of Wales and I found a number of Pughs recorded in the 1680 to 1750 records, and I think there must have been several families there. There are some recent memorials to members of the Pugh family in the churchyard at Maesmynis

If anyone on RootsChat has a detailed knowledge of the ancestry of the Pugh families in the area, I would like some help in sorting the data out.

Thanks!

Llanfi :) :) :)
