Thomas Turnbull died in Selkirk in 1862 - no age is shown on the death index entry.

He died aged 65 on 20/5/1862 Selkirk - shown as Innkeeper and wife as Ann Oliver.   His parents are shown as James Turnbull, farmer and Mary nee Oliver (both deceased).    Informant was son Thomas Turnbull.

Thankyou so much for that info.Annette.  I gave up searching for his death as could not be sure the ones I found were him, but he was an innkeeper at Selkirk  'Black Bull Inn" so you certainly have the correct person. I also knew his father was James but did not know his mother was Mary.
Many thanks

For "alessandralee"

Seems we're related! Thomas Turnbull was my great great grandfather who married Ann Oliver.
They had 4? children - Mary, Andrew, Jane and Thomas.
Andrew was my great grandfather.
You're on Ann Olivers side - where do you come from?

In the 1861 census I can see Adam was back living with his parents together with his wife Elizabeth and their son Thomas. So obviously they had Annie after that date.
They were staying at 10 Market Place, Selkirk.
Adam's dad Thomas died in 1862.
So we are connected, as Thomas Turnbull was my great great grandfather.

Charles T

Thanks for getting in touch.   My late husbands  grandmother was Annie Turnbull born 1874. Her father Adam was the  first born son  [1832] of Thomas Turnbull and Ann Oliver.

Annie was born in Edinburgh , where her father worked as a baker ,but she died in Aberdeen

I have your G.G.Grandfather  Andrew,s death in 1881 ,but do not know where. Do you know wher he died?

I live in South Australia. My husband,s name was  Charles, by the way.
