The Lodge, Hatfield Court, Nr. Leominster
« on: Saturday 13 October 12 10:40 BST (UK) »
I am looking for any information concerning Hatfield Court near Leominster. My great grandfather, Benjamin Hunter Skilling lived at The Lodge at Hatfield Court at the time of the 1901 Census with his wife and three daughters. He was a gardener, 'non-domestic'. Previously he had lived and worked all his life in Scotland, and I can only assume that he came to Hatfield to work for the same person that he did in Scotland. I understand that whatever remains of Hatfield Court is now flats. However, there must surely be archives somewhere which will help with ownership and employees at the court in late 1890's and early 1900's. If anyone can help, I would be very grateful
