Hi KGarrad,

I think achoo would like to see Edward's parents and siblings and you gave him with his wife and children - a good find by the way  :)

Achoo - Family Search has 1881 census which you could search for yourself. However here is a link for you.

I'll leave you the pleasure of finding the 1881 census for yourself! ;D

1871 census:
Reference RG10, Piece 2371, Folio 9, Page 9
5 Hendbenster Court, Taunton (Can't make out the address?!)

Tucker, William  Head  M  32  Hawker  b Taunton
Tucker, Mary  Wife  F  30  Hawker  b Ireland
Tucker, William  Son  M  13  Factory Boy  b Taunton
Tucker, John  Son  M  11  Factory Boy  b Taunton
Tucker, Mary  Daughter  F  10  Scholar  b Taunton
Tucker, Henry  Son  M  8  Scholar  b Taunton
Tucker, Edward  Son  M  6  Scholar  b Taunton
Tucker, Louisa  Daughter  F  11  Scholar  b Taunton
Tucker, George  Son  M  2  Scholar  b Taunton
Tucker, Matilda  Daughter  F  7 months  b Taunton

In 1861, they are living at Princess Street, Taunton (RG09, 1617, 29, 51).

And this looks like the marriage:

March qtr 1857
Taunton district    vol 5c, page 640

Tucker, William
Crawley, Mary

Looking at William (b1834) on the censuses, he gives his birth place as Taunton in 1861 and 1871.

In 1881, he gives Coleford, Monmouthshire as his birthplace?!

In 1891 it's Wales.

In 1901 and 1911 it's Forest of Dean!

hhi this is my family too. they had 19  children according to the census but 7 dies. also they are /were a travelling family. i noticed he too changes his place of birth. we don't really know where he is from or even if he was a tucker. according to the 1851 census william and anna/ hannah their parents were living in Yeovil he was a mat maker. the next census they are living in taunton as mat makers also again telling different places of birth. It seems odd to us that we cannot find any marriage records for them and that william died of chronic bronchitis  aged 72 on certificate with his wife anna but he was buried alone..  Ellen went to live in london and married a musician their son played in the orchestra in the strand palace hotel and died aged 33 of tb look up mary blakely on ancestry for more details of that 1. william and mary's son william married a travelling/gipsy woman called maryann manley , her mother was a 'welles' again a gipsy travelling family.
