Adam's arriving Ohio about 1880/
« on: Sunday 21 October 12 16:41 BST (UK) »
Hello All - This is a tale of 4 sisters all born Breeze here in Talk, Staffordshire.  Harriet now Rogers (Rodgers) arrived in Corning, Perry, Ohio, in about 1879, Charlotte followed a few years later, she was Rogers also having married Harriet's brother in law.  I recently found that younger sister Priscilla found her way with her family to Monroe, Ohio, and now I'm hoping you can find these for me because they disappear after their son is born in 1879, so I think sister Sarah may have moved to Ohio too but I'm having no luck.  All born England obviously
Henry Adams born 1839
Sarah Adams born 1843
Helena Adams born 1867
Joseph Adams born 1869
Emily Adams born 1870
Henry Adams born 1874
John Adams born 1876
George Adams born 1879
I found a Henry Adams living with his married daughter in Athen's, Ohio. 1920 census? Right ages but I need some evidence of them arriving in the US.  Thanks in advance because you have solved things for me before.  Cheers Fred

This looks like John Adams:  https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/X875-QZM

Death record for Emily:  https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/XZT4-LW3

Was there a daughter Eleanor or might be she be the same person as Helena?

This looks good Shelly - yes I think Helena was an attempt to spell Eleanor, she is actually Celina in the 1871 census.  I didn't expect such a quick reply, thanks so much.  Off to look at the links which I think are going to be accurate. ;D

Shelly the name Briggs cropped up as a hint on Ancestry but I tried to follow it and couldn't confirm that the family had moved to the US.  This has opened a door to add a bit more to the tree.  Thanks again, I'll go back to the tree and add this info and should get a lot of info back.  Fred
