The image is really poor - but I wonder if this is them Parish of East Garston, Hungerford. It would mean Mary (WELLS)   was possibly known as Nancy in the family - she did definitely go to Australia?

HO107 / Piece 22 / Book 1 /Folio 15/ Pg26
John CAREY 50
Grace CAREY 75
James CAREY 20
Mary Ann CAREY 25
John CAREY 25
Nancy CAREY 25
James CAREY 2mths

All born in county. Can't make out the address (? Garston) or the occupations of the adult males, though I think James' occupation starts with an abbreviation of  Journeyman.  The way the enumerator has marked this family by bracketing , indicates  John Snr down to Mary Anne is one unit, whilst  John Jr, Nancy & the baby are another separate unit (parents & child).

This appears to fit really well with the family lines indicated on this website tree:
http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/a/n/s/Maxine-Anstis/WEBSITE-0001/UHP-0071.html

If it's correct, then this Census is giving 4 generations - 1) Grace, and her son: 2) John Snr, and his children:  3) James age 20, Mary Ann, John Jnr (& wife), and the latter's son: 4) James, baby

Cheers

Hello Trish,

Thank you very much.

I had some but it's good to get full dates for the events.  Depending where the family is in my tree determines how far I search for details of siblings.

Regards,

Fred

Hi Fred,
I always find the Siblings to narrow down the time-frame to find the right Marriage for the Parents.
