:(  Oh dear will have a look to see where the other Mary went.

Thank you so much.

She may have been married to an Uncle of David so I shall look that up.

I am so impressed with your superior knowledge!

What would I have done without you.

We had almost come to accept the idea that David had been shipped off as child labour to the colonies before his 10th birthday!

I have to find now whether he actually did go to Canada or America.  My 90 year old cousin thinks he did.#

I have found that somone from Canada started a quick investigation  on my David 5 months ago and I hope he will log onto ancestry again.  He has repeated the place date of birth and his existence in the 1871 census.  I just hope that I will be able to contact him eventually and see why he is looking.

Thak yu again Sandra

Just found David and wife in Ealing , London 1911.  No children.  He is a grocer and she is a superintendant.

If they went to America or Canada the it must have been after that.

Anyone know how I can access  outgoing passenger lists please.  Sandra

Thank you.

She seems likely.

Of the 8 children, I have traced David with your help, Eleanor was a general servant in Caio and then married a gent who became a  Deputy Chief Constable, James became an apprentice draper , then headed for  Swansea area and became  travelling draper, he emigrated to Canada and died young, Letitia married a Daniel White and produced a good solid family in the Pontaddulais area, the youngest was John Ivor and he became a Minister ending up in Flint ,North Wales, my grandmother  Sarah stayed at home and married James Davies and produced a family of 6 who all did well against all odds.

Will try to trace Anne(may have gone to Gorseinon/Gowerton or Mumbles), Mary (may have gone to Llanybydder )and the other sister   Margaret . Have not looked yet.

Thank you for your continuing interest and expertise.

Hi, I just came across your post and Sarah [Jenkins] and James Davies were my great grandparents. Their son Evelyn Ellis Davies born 26 June 1900  New York Pencarreg was my Mum's father. I am not doing much with my family tree at the moment but just thought if I have any information you need will be glad to pass it on. Lesley
