Thanks Willsy for your info. Yes all those Robert's do get a tad monotomous as Linthwaite's children. Some are down as Linthwaite/Jane and some just for Linthwaite. It seems that Jane Flower was bequethed the Castle Mill but confused as to why as Linthwaite's father Robert was running the mill before. Now need find where John Flower senior's family fitted into the Mill. It says he & his father were Woolcombers and John junior christened as a Pauper.

Hi. I am descended from my 4 xGGdad Robert Flower son of Robert and Keziah (nee Whittle) who I believe were married at Stapleford St Mary Magdelene 05, 08, 1770. My Robert, born ca1771 married Susannah Ann, possibly Thomas and possibly in London where they had Milling interests in the city and in Lambeth. Some of the children of this couple may have been born outside of Leicester.  Robert and Susannah and some of their offspring are buried in a marked grave, rear of St Mary de Castro Leicester. Several references to conflicts between Robert Flower and Leicester Council exist in the minute books of the Council which are (or were) held in Bishop Street Library. Linthwaite is a surname used as a first name by the flowers. It is also a place near Huddersfield.  In former times it was not uncommon for surnames to be used as first names. I have never sought to discover any link between my Flowers and John Flower artist. There may be a distant one.
