Need maiden name for Mary Home ? born 1879 Tunbridge Wells who married Robert Harry Burslem (1881-1985) either 1903 or 1904 at the Isle of Wight.

Though  you should have posted this on Hampshire& The Isle of Wight,it appears he married a Mary Anne Corfield.

Thank you for the information. This gives me what I want. Its interesting that her marriage record gives her as Mary Anne Corfield when her burial record is given as Mary Home Burslem and the census records give her variously as Mary H Corfield (1891)Mary S Corfield (1901) and birth record of 1 st qtr 1878 Tunbridge Wells as Mary Home Corfield. Her correct name is Mary Home Corfiled/Burslem.Goes to show how difficult it can be to reserch someone with all the variations in names dates etc.

That will be a compilation of submissions by District Registrars -= which in itself will be a compilation of Register Office submissions.

Plenty of scope for mis-transcription!

The Parish Register entry (if married in church) would be more accurate.
Failing that, the original entry from the actual Register Office?
