Plus have you seen the conquests family site , there is a gap but the first record of the conquest family is in 1219, sir Richard Conquest a knight in 1607, as I said the best place to look is the Conquest family site in ancestry.com

A few comments:
- what's the evidence that he was born in 1706? This looks to me to be a guestimate. No baptism has been found, and as would be expected in 1751, no age was given on burial
- the burial entry is merely Thomas Conquest, labourer. There are no death records before 1837, and burials have never shown birthplace
- anything relating to the Conquest family of Cardington before 1726 is speculation. No-one knows who Thomas Conquest was, where he was from, nor who his parents were.
- there's more than one tree on Ancestry named Conquest Family Tree. Who's the owner of the one you recommend?
- I place no credibility on Ancestry trees, which are good as guides only, with details needing to be checked against original records
- the early Conquest family is fairly well documented, including a pedigree on the Visitation of Bedfordshire. The problem is establishing whether or not Thomas descends from them.

I agree with your comments, David, as you say, we can't prove anything before Thomas's marriage to Judith Bettle in Cardington in 1726.  To my mind it is rather unlikely that Thomas is descended from the early documented Conquest family, but we shall probably never know.
In any case, for myself I am pleased to have got back as far as Thomas!  I didn't expect to get back so far when I started my research into my maternal grandmother's family.

Hi all, I have since my last list found the family going back to the 600s. It is all on ancestry as I find it easier to do there. Your welcome to pop onto it.
Ann as you know we are related as with David. Hope you had a good Christmas.
