Hello China,
I didn't know about a Conquest family in Toddington, but I don't think they connect with my line, as most of them had left Beds by then.  It's surprised me how many Conquest families there are with what I first thought would be a very uncommon name!
Anyway, thanks for the info, you never know if it is going to be useful.

Hi Ann

I have just started my investigations and I too seem to have got as far as you using Ancestry, wondered if you had any further luck?

We are a small cluster of Conquests in East Herts.

Claire

Hi Claire
No, I'm still stuck at the marriage of Thomas Conquest to Judith Bettles, as this is as far back as I can prove for my line - others speculate about previous generations, but have no records to back it up.
I haven't so far been able to find any connections with other Conquest families, although Thomas might be a key, as I don't know when or where he was born.
Good luck with your research, Ann

Hi

Wondering if you could confirm if my Conquest (1) is correct and (2) if it is linked to yours

My tree has an Ann Conquest born c 1705 who married a John Wright b c1703

This line eventually marries up with the Swannell family

Hi,
I'm afraid I haven't got any further back with my Conquest family than Thomas and Judith as mentioned above.  Thomas may have had a sister Ann, but I don't know of her.  Sorry I can't be any more help.

Welcome to Rootschat!

I'd be interested to know the source of the death record that you've found, as the only record that I can find is a burial record in Cardington on 25 May 1751 of Thomas Conquest, labourer, with no other detail.

Hi,
David has beaten me to it - I was also going to ask what death record you had found for Thomas?
