Looks like 23 Carlton Street was a boarding house in 1881.  Daniel Courtney was the boarding house keeper, a widower, age 60, born in Ireland.  All the boarders were born in Ireland. No servants.

Nobody of that name.  Looking at the census again, the boarding house keeper could be Daniel Courhey.  You could take a look yourself.  One of the boarders was James Power, age 30, born in Ireland - you could use that to search if you can't search by address.  You can search 1881 census for free at familysearch.org

Just wondering if I found the correct Carlton Street beacuse it is in Scotland Ward, not Mount Pleasant, but it is the only one I can find.
