ISAAC COX OF HACKNEY
« on: Saturday 17 November 12 03:02 GMT (UK) »
This may be a silly question.. probably is.. but what is the probability of (3) Issac Cox born to Issac and Martha Cox, in Hackney, all a few years apart? See the link...

I guess Martha would be a common name... Isaac perhaps? Cox? but the combo of the 3? Anyway, I'm trying to find the sibling of Joanna...

Thanks
David

Hi Karen.. Are you hypothesizing  that its the same parents and they kept having sons and naming them Isaac until one survived?

It happened quite a bit, the infant mortality rate being what it was back then.

This family is in the right area with ages that are compatible with yours..

1841 Census England Middlesex St John Hackney Hackney
HO107/698/14/21
Well Street

COX
Martha 84 Ind Born in this County
George 40 Baker Born in this County
Sarah 40 Not born in this County
Rebecca 15 Born in this County
Sarah 13 Born in this County
Cathy? 12 Born in this County
Johanna 10 Born in this County
Ann 8 Born in this County
Georgina 7 Born in this County

I can see baptisms for these children of George and Sarah COX... there is also an Isaac John to this couple, Rebecca's middle name is Martha, and another son born about 1837 George Isaac Thomas COX.

Cheers
