That's an amazing piece of information. Where did you find it?
Researching the names Mckenzie / Mackenzie from Ross and Cromarty especially Scoraig and Rherivach.

The names Fraser, MacGillivary and Grant from Daviot & Dunlichity.

The name of Fraser from Lanarkshire.

The name of Bell from Northumberland.

The name Chilla / Chylla / Chyla from Poland.

Gillian,

Michael has switched back to Newcastle.

If this man died in a pit accident in Seaton Delaval, his death would have been registered within the main Registration District of Tynemouth ( whose office was situated at North Shields). Sub-districts of Tynemouth included Blyth which covered Seaton Delaval.
On 1 Oct 1936 name of reg district was changed to Northumberland South ( but head office office still at North Shields) until 1 April 1974, when it became North Tyneside, part of Tyne & Wear.

To enlist in WW1 men had to be 18 yrs. But could not be posted abroad until 19 yrs.
However it is supposed that 250,000 under 19s fought abroad. 18000 "boys" died in the Battle of the Somme !

Michael

Thank you Michael,
I thought I was correct in my assumption that if he died in Seaton ,his death would have been registered  Tynemouth,I just wanted you to clarify that for me as I do find the registration district changes difficult to keep in my head,
And glad to hear you are back in Northumberland for Christmas,
