John Smith Reid Detroit Wayne Michigan - death

I am trying to trace the death of John Smith Reid who was born 5 Nov 1890 in West Calder Midlothian Scotland and emigrated to Detroit Wayne Michigan on 3 May 1925 with his wife Isabella and son William. I know he worked in Kelsey Hayes Wheel manufacturers in Detroit,as an Electric welder wheel plant.
In the 1940 Census: John S Reid Age 48 living at 60 Margeret St West Detroit Wayne Michigan. Citizenship Naturalised. Salary  $1400pa . Wife Isabelle Age 40, children ^(*)
 His WW2 draft card shows him living at the above address and employed by Kelsey hayes.

Any help in tracing his death or any other information would be really appreciated

I see Detroit border crossing cards from 6 Sep. 1945 & 2 Sep. 1949 for Isabella Reid of 60 W. Margaret, Detroit.  They list her as married, so I'd guess than John was still alive as of then.

Apologies for raising John smith Reid again i have been searching for him for months so thought i would try one last time with the vast knowledge and experience on this forum before closing this detroit line down. If you feel no mileage can be gained please feel free to close the thread

No apologises necessary, the link is only to save people duplicating what was found previously.  City Directories might be helpful but haven't come across any so far. Someone may come across something though.

Since we have the death date for his wife, one option might be to find out where she is buried & see if John is there too.  I'm not positive, but it's likely that the cemetery where she was interred would be listed on her death certificate, if you were inclined to order it.
