Just in case you are interested in possible origins of the name ...

Widder can also mean 'ram' - so unless the name has been changed (gradually) over the years, it could have originated with sheep-farming ancestors.

upps, sorry, you are right, just meant the male sheep.
but ended up with the astrology-word. :o

it happened because in german Widder is taken for ram AND aries.
