Any registered birth for that period will be on freebmd  www.freebmd.org.uk

Most WH births were registered and/or the child was baptised - not absolutely guaranteed though

Hi

Failure to register a birth only became a fineable offence in 1874/5 - prior to then, many births went unregistered.

Do you know for certain that she was actually born in the WH?

The only Louisa Maplestone I can find on a census entry was b 1841 Middlesex - she is on the 1841 and her birth is on freebmd.  She died in 1843 as Louisa Elizabeth Maplestone - also in Middlesex

Can you give us some additional info about your Louisa (eg) who did she marry and when

Is she on a census entry?

The 1851 has a Louisa Mapletton b 1845 parents Ellick and Catherine.  Freebmd marriage entry for parents shows surname as Mapleston.

I won't post full entry unless you can confirm it's the right parents

Hi

Freebmd has no e on the end of Mapleston on the marriage entry.

Do you have a copy of the 1866 marriage cert showing a fathers name?

Quote
she is registered in 1871 census as bn in Lincoln Work House

No she isn't - she is shown as aged 26 (1845) born Lincoln Lincolnshire
