John Foulkes 1750?
« on: Wednesday 16 January 13 15:49 GMT (UK) »
I have a marriage for a Humphrey Roberts and Margaret Foulkes, age 24, daughter of John and ? Foulkes, of this parish (Nannerch, FLintshire) date 1804. So that would give us a birthdate of around 1780 for a Margaret Foulkes, daughter of John and ?. I don't know the mother's name as it could read as Jane or Gene? And what exactly does 'of this parish' mean? Are they referring to Flintshire or Nannerch.

Any help is always appreciated.

Cheers

The original marriage entry is not very clear, as you have said it could be a J or a G.

There is a marriage in St. Mary, Nannerch on the 17th September 1781 between John Foulkes & Gayner Edwards.
I looked for possible baptisms of children for this couple, but could not see any, nor could I find a baptism for Margaret Foulkes abt 1780.

Thank you so very much for your help. I found a 1765 marriage between a John Foulkes and a Jane Vaughan in St Asaph. I know that is outside of Nannerch but it does match the first names of Margaret's parents and the timing is right. It is a bit of a long shot but worth investigating. Any further suggestions? Again, thanks for the help
