;) Please could any one tell me if a " Samuel Purtle with a daughter Bridget Purtle " appear on
the 1851 census, assuming they had left Ireland before settling in Leeds.
I think its still possible Samuel could be anglicised version of Simon.
All the best ;)

Hi Derek,

Free bmd has a birth 1870 and death 1871 for a Simon Coyle but whether it is the right family - we don't know.

Hi heywood, so close but so far away again, how frustrating can it get,
nice to hear from you again.
MargP had a look for me but came up with no fresh leads on Portill's,
i was hoping some thing might turn up from " Clare library forum " but as yet nothing accept
there were several Simon & Mary Portill's same time as mine.

Take care.
All the best ;)

;) Hi, just had e-mail from Clare library and they suggest looking at Kilrush parish register
in the hope i may find trace of my Portill's, baptisms commence 1827.
Would a Jane Portill be found with a father Simon?
would any one live near by and be able to check up for me, sorry if its a big ask.

All the best.

Derek ;)
