Thomas Isaiah PROBERT Closed
« on: Thursday 24 January 13 15:04 GMT (UK) »
Hi

I am need of some help in finding the parents of Thomas Isaiah Probert who was born in 1893 in the R.D. of Herefordshire. He was, Private 11061, 5th King’s Shropshire Light Infantry killed in action  25th September 1915 aged  22. Commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres, Belgium
I am in the process of completing the names of the those who died in the Great War who are mentioned on the war memorial in Much Marcle Church.

Any information would be appreciated

Alf

As you've probably seen, CWGC lists him as Thomas Isaac Probert but unfortunately doesn't identify his parents.

Birth Place:   Much Marcle, Herefordshire/  Residence: Dymock, Herefordshire

There is this family in Linton in 1901 although his DOB doesn't match

Thankyou very much for the replies.

I saw the Thomas as stepson, I will have a look for his father.

William Wintle and Louisa Probert married in Gloucester in 1890 and already had 4 yr old "Tom" as stepson in the household in 1891, so presumably he can't be the same Thomas whose birth was registered in Hereford in 1893.

1891: RG12/2008/100/6.
