David Davies 1877
« on: Sunday 27 January 13 16:05 GMT (UK) »
I'm trying to find David Davies in 1901.
1911 census shows him living with wife Mary (4yrs married), at 116 High St, Blackwood, Mon. Shopkeeper (Grocer & Provisions).
Age 34, born Bettws, Cardiganshire.
Mary age 36, born Mynyddislwyn.
Two children, Sarah 2yrs 10mths and Myfanwy 6mths.

Can anyone help please?

1901 has lots of David Davies b Cardigan in that birthyear range - none born Bettws
www.1901censusonline.com (select advanced search)

Bettws on its own seems to be Carmarthen/Glamorgan/Monmouth/Montgomeryshire

In Cardigan there are these places which are preceded by Bettws

Bledwrs
Evan
Lleucu

Hi Carole,
father was James, a farmer.
Does that fit your 1881 find?

Yes, that looks right doesn't it.
I'll see if I can use that info to find 1901 now.
Thank you Carole.
