have the following information
Henry Butterworth- 1847 - born manchester
wife Mary Alice Williams - 1847 - liverpool
son William Henry Butterworth - 1867 - born liverpool
daughter - alice j butterworth - 1869 - liverpool
son - thomas butterworth - 1871 - liverpool
son - john butterworth - 1873 - barrow in furness
son - albert butterworth - 1875 - liverpool
son - mary e butterworth - 1877 - liverpool
daughter - elizabeth a butterworth - 1879 - liverpool
the address they lived at in the 1881 british census is
7 Ct 1 House Brassey Street. Toxteth Park. Lancs
Henry and Alice Butterworth were married in June 1865

Have you had a look at the 1901 census yet?  From the free-to-view index Henry Butterworth would appear to be a widower:

Sarah Butterworth, age 24, born Liverpool
John Butterworth, age 28, born Liverpool, general labourer
Francis Butterworth age 2, born Liverpool
Henry Butterworth, age 55, born Manchester, cooper

There is also:

Albert Butterworth, age 27, born Barrow in Furness, shipwright
Elizabeth Butterworth, age 26, born Liverpool
Elizabeth Butterworth, age 1, born Liverpool

William Butterworth, age 33, born Liverpool, dock labourer
Mary Butterworth, age 30, born Liverpool

Thomas Butterworth, age 31, born Liverpool, dock labourer
Elizabeth Butterworth, age 30, born Liverpool
