Archbold/ Murphy living in Ballintim 1850
« on: Thursday 31 January 13 09:12 GMT (UK) »
Looking any information on Townlands of Ballintim and Ballinree how many people lived there 1790-1850. I have a marriage of Oliver Archbold to Mariam Murphy 1860 and Catherina Archbold to Richard Hinch 1860. On the Griffith’s Valuation 1853 there is a Edward Archbold in Ballintim and a Mary Archbold in Ballinree hoping to match the above names together.

see related topic : Family Living in Dublin 1860-1900

You can check the number of households listed in these townlands at the time of Griffith's valuation, which is dated 1853 for this area - see reply #3 in the previous topic

6 households in Ballinree townland and about 15 in Ballintim townland.

Shanew147 thank you for the reply, the people on the other list were very helpful, but now that I am researching in Wexford there is a lack of information out there and nothing online. So I am looking for help.

The link is for the reference of others, and added because it includes background information and relevant results from previous previous searches for these people.

As mentioned in the other topic, RC church records for the parish (Camolin) only go back to 1853, so there's not much to go on when it comes to searching for individuals for the 1850s and earlier. The Griffith's details I mentioned show households in the two townlands, and the earlier Tithe records will show many of the agricultural properties and heads of household for slightly earlier dates - about 1823 to 1837 (dates vary by area). These are available on the National Archives website - see :

Hi Culbaire
 Thank's for the information.
I have a little  more information Catherline  Archbold father was Edward, I have her marriage cert; I would guess at Oliver's father was Edward as well, but the Registrar General say they have no information  before 1864. How would I go about looking for a marriage of Edward Archbold around 1830-1840.
 Thank's again
    Jeff
