Some early Irish lawn tennis players
« on: Wednesday 06 February 13 17:28 GMT (UK) »
Hello,

I'm looking for some basic biographical information - just the first name(s), and date and place of birth (and death) for the following Irishmen who took part in Irish lawn tennis tournaments in the years circa 1885-1905:

E.J. Carey
--

R.M. Graham
--

W.H. Graham

Brother of R.M.?
--

A. W. Pesnett
--

The following players went to Trinity College:

A.R. Atkinson
--

R.C. Barton
--

D.W. Christie
--

E.H. Johns
--

W.R. Joynt
--

T.G. Knox
--

P.G. Sandford
--

R.E. Shaw
--

J.E.L. Stein
--

Any help would be appreciated.

Mark

Hello, Sanford was a well known landlord family just outside Castlereagh Co. Roscommon - he may be related to them. Its not a common name in Ireland.

An update on the thread here would be helpful to prevent others from searching for details you've already found.
