No Joseph baptised at that time in Figheldean.

There is a John being baptised 14 April 1755 to a Thomas & Elizabeth.

The details of Joseph & Elizabeth's marriage are.

22 Dec 1778. Joseph Sheppard. OTP. Banns. Elizabeth Carter. OTP. Figheldean.

West.
Wilts; Willis/Paintin;
Gloucs; Willis.Westbury on Seven.Hathaway Churcham.Sterry Westbury.

Just by chance in a local auction I bought an album with hundreds of victorian photos of the sheppard familyof figheldean, taken from I would think 1870 to 1910 and some modern ones, they were farmers I think are these your family maybe Ryan 07814 148328

Can't help as I'm a newbie to all this. But I've started chasing back my Sheppard ancestors and seem to have come to the same point as you. My line seems to go from Joseph and Elizabeth to son David & wife Ruth (no not the Archers!) then Jacob (married Jane Jacobs) to Young (m Amy Firman) to my grandfather Henry Thomas Sheppard. Means that we could be distantly related.

I'd be interested in any info you've got on my line of the family if you're prepared to share.

I'm in Yorkshire too.

Regards, Tim
