1946- 1948 Bournemouth- How to find occupier of 10 Maxwell Road Winton
« on: Thursday 07 February 13 14:16 GMT (UK) »
I have a birth registered at this address and need to find out who was living at this address arround this time. Wondered if it could be a Nursing Home and hopefully find the proprieters names.
Have hit brick walls in family search and hoping this may unlock some clues .
Any advice welcomed.

Electoral register for 10 Maxwell Road Winton should give the answer. Believe they are available at Bournemouth Library.l

Thanks for that. I have been to check these in Bournemouth for other family members successfully but I live the opposite end of the country and was hoping there might be another way.

Email them and tell them you live miles away. Some libraries provide a service for look ups, first 15 mins free, they'll do a couple of years, others charge or won't even do them at all.

Also the Hampshire Records office should hold them too.

Failing those two suggestions, put a request look up on the Hants board asking if some kind soul would do a look up for you next time they're visiting the records or library.

THANK YOU to all who replied.
I emailed the Library only yesterday and they have already emailed back with the information I needed.
Not solved my mystery! but another piece of the big puzzle.

Hi Shellmex I realise this could be a long shot as u posted some time ago but I was looking up this address also and came across ur post. My great uncle was born at 10Maxwell Rd in the mid 1930s and am wondering if u have any info u would be happy to share. At this time it was as I understand a unmarried mothers home. Thanks

Hi Jae06
I was also looking up this address due to this being the address on my Grandmothers death certificate in 1930, she was only 20, single and had two weeks before given birth to my mother at Gaunts House.  So it certainly makes sense that it was a place unmarried mothers could go.
