Wealthy Daisy Canacott 1901 Census find
« on: Sunday 10 February 13 19:20 GMT (UK) »
I'm looking for the family of Wealthy Daisy Canacott.

On family search I find a 1901 Census record for her aged 10 of Edmonton, Middlesex. Would somebody be kind enough to look up the details to reveal her family please. I'm also trying to find emigration info to Australia as she married William Folkard in 1914.

I'm sure I have the same person as the use of Wealthy as a name would be fairly rare and there are no birth records for her in Australia.

I have scratchy information from other Australian death notices that her siblings may be Alfred, Elsie & Nita. I'm hoping to confirm these in the census.

Any information on this family would be gratefully received.

If anyone else is looking can you make out the occupations?  The writing is quite florid and has been written over...

In 1891 he was a Tinman - looks very similar in '01.
There is also another son John aged 11 born Clapham

Ahhhh ..... Thank you ever so much Suey.

The additional son named John would have been 21 for the 1901 census so probably wasn't at home anymore. He would be probably their oldest son born abt. 1880 so I may find their wedding around then possibly near to Clapham.

One last thing please ... I'm not good with abbreviated names for places in England (being an Aussie) For his wife ... The town would be Letcombe Bassett in Berkshire and the boundaries have been moved to be now in Oxfordshire??

The marriage may also be near here.

Suey

Would it be possible to look at the 1891 census for a "Lillie M Canacott". She is listed as age 4 which could make her the same Lilian M Canacott which you found earlier.

What is different here is that she is listed as a visitor. If it is so, then this family would be friends or other family.

Sorry to ask but FamilySearch no longer allows me to see the full record.

Regards, Rob
