Can anyone please tell me what Division, Royal Marines were present at Pembroke Dock in 1843.
     Many thanks in advance, Gypo.

Have you checked out the P.D. history website. I will have a look through my research and see if I can come up with an answer.
The definitive answer will be in the British Order of Battle for 1843 held at Kew.

A bit late responding to this thread, but for what it's worth, my g-g-grandad was a RM stationed at Pembroke when he married in 1850; and he was Artillery ( ie Portsmouth).

hi Chris,
Yes, he was at Sebastopol, and I have some of his service records, etc - he left as a SgtMajor.
Do you know anything about your chap's service?
Strangely, I can't find anything at the Nat. Archives for my bloke, but he went on to work as some sort of official at the Portsmouth docks , so I suspect his RM papers were transferred there.

Hi Elaine,
My G,G,Grandfather was in then, the village of Newcastle Emlyn 1843( it's a large town now) I believe this was during the Rebbecca riots, was your G,G,Grandfather also in this place at the same time.My 3x Great Grandfather married my 3xG,Grandmother whilst there in the local church.
                            Regards. Chris.

hi Chris,
Sorry, no - my chap was from Pembrokeshire, but like a number of locals, joined the RM.
He was {I think, since you only get the name in 1841 - but I've checked everyone else with the same name who was in the RM, and I'm pretty confident I have the right man} in the Naval Hospital at Devonport on the 1841 Census, and I know he was posted to Pembroke Dock by 1850, because it's shown on his marriage certificate.
Luckily for me, he and his wife produced a number of children whose baptisms I've checked, so I know where they were 1851 - 1860 {child production stops of course during the days of the Crimea}.
In 1861, the family are in Pembrokeshire with grandma, while my chap is in the Med. aboard the 'Caesar'.
I would dearly love to know his movements 1841 - 1850, but Nat. Archives don't seem to have them, and neither does Yeovilton, which has some RM records.
Have you had any success with records for your chap?
Elaine
