I am trying to establish the facts around my father's compulsory entry to the Royal Navy as a boy in November 1942, aged 16. Prior to this date he had apparently been serving in the Home Guard and was involved in the accidental shooting of a policeman whilst firing blanks in the meeting hall. I would like some advise about where to research facts about this eg local , newspapers, court records or court martial records. Many thanks!
