Looking for the parents and birth certificate of John Boucher who married Hannah Cox on 24th Jan1824 in Beaminster Dorset.  He was a sailcloth maker but may have begun his working life as a servant

John Boutcher and Anna Cox both signed their names at the marriage.

The witnesses were Mary Boucher and Henry Cox. The latter was probably (H)anna(h)'s brother as there is a Henry (1803) and Ann (1805) born to William and Hannah Cox, weaver, in Beaminster, both of whom are in the 1841 census looking after their granddaughter (John and Hannah's daughter) Thirza Boucher.

I would guess that Mary Boucher is John's mother - perhaps his father had died. There is a Mary Boucher, 75, just across the county border, in East Coker, Somerset, living with Job Boucher, 30, a weaver; but no evidence that she is the same person.

You will not be able to find a birth certificate because civil registration did not begin until July 1837;  you need to look for an entry in a baptism register.
