FEATHERSTONE
« on: Saturday 16 February 13 18:48 GMT (UK) »
Hi I was wonderng if anyone could tell me if Frederick William Featherstone emigrated to new york after 1881 - he is on the 1881 census but not the 1891 as ancestry says there is a Frederick william featherstone on new york passenger lists 1820 - 1957 but i do not have access to world ancestry. The only prob i have is there is a death jan-mar of same name in west ham which may or may not be him. He was born in may 1871 in Hackney. Thank you

See www.castlegarden.org for New York arrivals before Ellis Island opened in 1892.

www.ellisisland.org covers N.Y. arrivals 1892-1924.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Oh my god this family are so evasive. I am now looking for Frederick Featherstone born in 1803- think i have right one in st giles cripplegate - there are some more bapts on family search for this family- Henry 1810 and maybe thomas jas(but mother looks like eliza rather than elizabeth) in 1806 - but thats all i can find. I have frederick born 1803 on the 1841 census with wife betsy(married 1826) but cannot find anything with his parents and their children on, except for his baptism. Parents were William and Elizabeth- cant find where they were from or a marriage for them. Anyone help please Thank you :D

Perhaps that question would be better asked on the Middlesex. England board ?

Here is someone else looking at the same family, 7 Featherstone births listed.

http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=kentfeather&id=I4056

There is an e-mail address so perhaps you can contact the owner to compare notes ?
