Good Morning avm 228

Digging around I have found a bit more info on the Frederick Walter Tillmans and are hoping that when you have the time could wave your magic Electoral wand over these to see what you could find please.

First I was only able to find them ever on one census (1891) Frederick Walter Snr being a Lamp maker, with wife Jane and one year old son Frederick Walter.

Next with the aid of poor Violet's existing off- spring in Canada (who had previously searched the Tillman Tree ref Violet) I have the two wedding certs for -

Snr's (age 48 ) Widower 2nd marriage to Florence Edith Honey (age 21) Spinster - father - Frederick William Honey (Carman) of both of 137 Liverpool Road Islington that was on 25thAug 1913 they went on to have I think :
 In 1914 Frederick.C who married Ellen.R.Lyons  - 1916 Elizabeth.M who married Edwin.Cole and      in  -1922  William.G. who married Irene.D.Clarke ?????

Jnr's (age 23)( Porter) Marriage  to Elizabeth Barnes (age 22)Bachelor & Spinster - her father was George Henry Barns ( Builder) Jnr lived at 59 Albert Street Clerkenwell, and Elizabeth at No. 54 Albert St.
That was on the 3rd Aug 1913, they also had I think Three children :
In 1915 Walter.F. who marred Rosemary.E.Ipmey - 1917 -32 ? Florence Ellen and in 1920 Henry William who married Betty.L.Brewin.

Only other info for either is Snr's Death cert - 24th Oct 1930 in Royal Northern Hospital, signed by widow F.E.Tillman they lived then at 30 Gillespie Road Islington - he was a motor Lamp repairer

By the late 1920's the Carriage lamp business was all but finished the Tillman's who were still there
were Frederick Walter Snr, my Grandfather Henry Edward ( who died before I was born) and from time to time Frank. As you see Frederick Walter turned to Car Lamp Repair, Henry carried on with electroplating and Frank ironmongering in his shop in Lissen road - George Alfred apparently carried on in his Tea rooms ( having lost his little Sparrow in 1921)

Will do, John.  :)

They have both passed away now. In fact Bill's funeral was only 3 or 4 weeks ago. But if you want more explicit details, the PM will have to wait till I talk to my mother and get some more information.

I find this amazing. I spotted the thread and clicked on it just out of curiosity.

Hello again Dee

Very very sorry to hear that, he could have filled  in a lot I am sure, Lavinia  who married William Angas, ( his I think grand aunt) had William Silas, who went out to N.Z. with his four children, one of which was N.Z. Tennis champion Charles Angas (who I think also played in Australia  ) I wonder if Bert knew all this. will wait to hear from you later

Another one no longer lost with great thanks to Dee, we now know that both William.G, (son of Snr Frederick Walter and his 2nd wife Florence E Honey), and his wife  Irene .D.Clarke, are correct and immigrated to Australia in about 1958. A truly International site and highly productive, thanks again and please keep it up. ( I can sleep better at night now)

Glad to have been able to help, John.    :D

My almost 94 year old mother and my sister were both very interested to hear of our contact.

Thanks yet again Dee
For my mother's lost brother in Australia !! had searched some time back but with a surname like Wood, I just hadn't got anywhere, pity, since Bill and Raymond were both in the same type of work, they would have had lots to talk about.
With Bill's age I suppose he was in WWII, did he mention by chance ? I missed my chance of coming to Australia as an Evacue during the war, as we lived in the North of London we were some of the last to go, as the countryside was fast filling up, they had started to send the kids out, according to my mother,I was due to go to Australia, but the ship before ours was sunk and all was stopped - ended up in Wiltshire - can't be bad there are some nice people who live there.
