Australian airmen
« on: Sunday 05 June 05 16:34 BST (UK) »
Would anyone have any idea where I could find out where Australian Airmen who fought in WW2 were stationed,

was it all at one airfield or maybe spread about in England

There is probably a site somewhere, any help appreciated,  thanks

Hi Jakky :)

here are a couple of sites with information on Australian Airmen in England during WW2. They give a few locations for WW1 as well. There are quite a number of sites devoted to Australian Airmen - if you know what squadron your relative served in it would be easier to search for the location.

Hi jakky,

How about contacting the Australian War Memorial in Canberra?

http://www.awm.gov.au/

You can do a lot of research at that site!

Hi Jacky

WWII records for all Australian servicemen are available at www.naa.gov.au
You could browse looking for some airmen and check their individual records - you could also check the general information on the archives.

If you have a specific person that you are searching for - then you can find the record for that person.
