Mary Josephine Quinlan - marriage
« on: Wednesday 20 February 13 20:26 GMT (UK) »
I'm trying to trace a marriage of a Mary Josephine Quinlan (b circa 1895 in possibly Ireland or Lancashire).  Apparently she married a French-Canadian (his name and marriage date unknown) and lived at an address which I've deciphered as being Lajundesses (or similar), Furriers, Drelee Street, Quebec, Canada.

Can anyone help me in finding any information out, please?

Apparently they had a son, Marcel.

that is all the info I have been given.

many thanks in anticipation of you experts!

 ;)

Drouin collection has a marriage at Saint Dominic Montreal on 21 Oct 1919 between Alfred Lajeunesse (formerly on active service), s/o Joseph Lajeunesse (deceased) and Georgianna Deschenes to Mary Josephine Quinlan of Saint Dominic parish previously of England, d/o Martin Quinlan (deceased) and Sarah Fahers(? )

Their son, J.E.M.A. was born 07 Dec 1921 and baptized at St. Denis, Montreal.  Will pm full Christian name

This is one link for Montral city directories.  There is another one which most people like better but I'm not finding it in my bookmarks - maybe someone else can give you the link.

It would appear that Josephine died 12/01/1923 and is buried section T 00050 with spouse shown as Lajeunesse.
Alfred Lajeunesse with death in 1959 is in same section # but with another spouse.
Didn't look for the son

Added:
Death of Josephine is recorded at the Basilique Notre Dame Montreal with date of 12/01/1923  Occupation of Alfred is tailleur and fourner
Marriage of Alfred to Blance Lapare at Ste Brigide Montreal 03/03/1924.

I think I noticed Alfred Lajeunesse in the Canadian Voters lists with Blanche but at the time I was looking for a Josephine.

Same cemetery as Josephine and Alfred - same section and plot reference T 00050
is most likely their son using his first two names - Joseph Emile.  Also references his wife.

Many thanks for all that info, Cosmac.  It is hugely appreciated.

I am presuming in your last comment you were referring to a death for the son?  I will see if I can access those links you sent me.   I'm wondering if the son had any family of his own....they could still be living.  it would be great if we could make contact eventually if that was to be the case.

don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I accessed the cemetery site and cannot find a death for Josephine.  Only a Mary in 24/08/1920.

Just put in the last name - Quinlan and it pulls up the entire list of Quinlans buried there.  Scroll down and there are two Josephines - she had dropped the Mary so that might be what you are doing wrong.  The first Josephine in the list is yours if I'm remembering correctly.
