Well....I sure came late to this party :P :P :P Sorry Cosmac, haven't been onsite much.

Olives, perhaps if you could give us a scan of what you were sent? We might be able to get something more. There actually is a street called Lajeunesse...and it's pretty close to Drolet as well :)

Alfred's occupation would have been tailleur & fourreur. Tailor and furrier.

Thanks for everyone's input.

Chinakay - I can't send the page we have, as I've scribbed various notes on it, too.  It was only someone's handwritten scribble and there's nothing else on it relating to this particular family.

I go along with what Cosmac has found, because it all fits in.  I'm adamant we have the right family.  Its just any descendants of Alfred I'm interested in finding now, to see if we have any living relatives anywhere on that side of the family.

Have a good week everyone
 :)

I have Alice Grace Quinlan, b 1883, probably in Sarnia, daughter of Joseph Quinlan and Rose Bessance - any relation?

There is a record of a Mary Grace Quinlan b. May 17, 1893 Petrolia Lambton to Joseph Quinlan and Rose Bossimer.

Marriage for Joseph Quinlan, 21, b. Sarnia, s/o John and Grace Quinlan to Rosa Bossence, 20, b. Oxford county, Ont., d/o John and Sarah Bossence on Sep 11, 1886 Sarnia.

Marriage for Grace Quinlan, 28 May 1914 at Sarnia, Lambton shows her parents as Joseph Quinlan and Rose Marie Bossence.  Marriage to Donald Joseph Manson.

If this is the person you're talking you have to go back in census to find an Irish connection.  Joseph's parents are shown b. Ireland but children born in Ontario.  An ancestry tree shows Grace's maiden name as Gleeson.  John Quinlan born about 1811 Ireland and Grace about 1821.

No, I'm certain they're nothing to do with our own family.  Never heard of any of those names.  We do have a Bazzant in the family, but they hail from good old Yorkshire.

But many thanks anyway!

PS - someone in the family found a family of 'the' Josephine yesterday.  I tried to attach it to show you all but it wouldn't 'attach' for some reason!

So sad when she died so young - as did a lot of folk in those days.

Hi Cosmac,
That is the Grace Quinlan in my family tree. Her husband, Donald Manson is a distant relation - he was an important figure in early Canadian radio broadcasting.

Hi, I am related to Alfred and Josephine and would like to know more about you. I am the daughter of Joseph-Emile Lajeunesse 1914-1993 and Rita Plante. My grandfather is Émile Lajeunesse married to Mary Crane ( New York), and Emile was Alfred's brother. I have a tree on Ancestry.ca. Are you related to Marcel Lajeunesse 1921-1986 ???
