Hello

Would any be going to the Newcastle Library, I am enquiring about a obituary for a Miriam Murray nee Lawson.  Miriam died on the 26 July 1991 in the General Hospital, Ashington, Northumberland.

I would be very grateful for any assistance

hi,i couldn't find a death notice in the Evening Chronicle so had a look in the Journal.

Journal,Tuesday 30th July 1991.

Murray-Bedlington 56 Hartlands.In hospital on the 26th July aged 87 years.Marian nee Lawson.Dearly beloved wife of the late Thomas and dearest mother of the late Marian and Jean and a dearly loved aunt of all the family.Requiem mass in St Bedes RC church on Thursday 1st August at 10am.Followed by cremation at Cowpen crematorium at 11am.Friends please meet at church.Cut flowers only please.On whose soul sweet Jesus have mercy.RIP.

(the name was definetly spelled as Marian in the paper.)

HI I have just joined the group and see you are looking in to the murrays.I am a murray from Bedlington and looking at old post I can see we might be from the same murrays.My ggrandad was Andrew murray born in canobie and moved to plashettes then ashington my dad was born in ashington and lived and died in hartland Bedlington

             my g grandfather was Andrew Murray born in watchill canonbie in 1859 he had 9 brothers and sisters his father was james murray 1833-1880 and his mother was Elizabeth Hogg 1832-1903. Andrew married Elizabeth Baty in canobie in 1882 and had 11 possibly 12 children as Elizabeth had a son Thomas baty then named him Thomas baty Murray .Andrew was a coal miner lived in plashettes in 1901. My granddad William was born in plashettes in 1895.The family was living in Ashington in 1911.My family tree is a hard one as my mother was also a murry when she married my father my mothers Murray family is from Bewcastle farmers and moved around a lot and moved to Northumberland .If I can help in any way please ask as I still live in the area thanks jane
