Yes got some info from Ancestry.co.uk and CWGraves website.
Ayrshire-Meikle, Gordon, Hainey

Looking at those codes on the medal card - it shows he only got the British and Victory medal and not the 14/15 star so he did not go abroad until after the end of December 1915.

Have you seen this additional info on "Soldiers Died" which says he was....  "Formerly 6312, Scot. Horse" 
I am presuming Scot Horse means these guys (but I am open to alternative suggestions on this)

Perhaps someone can shed some light on whether that number can identify which "Scot Horse" he was with and when.

Also - his medal card appears also to have a previous Black Watch (Royal Highlander) number of 5063 followed by his S/40297 number later.

Perhaps someone knows whether this 5063 number can tell us anything?
