Hi Steve

Firstly watch the last name spelling. The name was very often and in some cases only ever spelt MESSER.
In Duns Tew PR's, for St Mary Magdalen there are 2 potentials for you;

Hanah MESSER bapt 10 Aug 1800 d o William and Betty

or

Hannah MESSER illegitimate d o Ann MESSER bapt 12 June 1803

I have a large number of the MERCER / MESSER family in my tree, but at this time not your Hannah.

We may well need to do some trading shortly.

Let me know if you want more look ups?

Hi Steve

I have a Hannah MERCER on my tree... parents as state above William and Betty.  All I know of her is her baptism date as she seems to leave the county at some point, so could well be that she went off to Bucks to work and then marry.

Somewhere on Roots there is a request of mine for information on the MERCER family as all I have is Hannah's father's details.  From memory he was from outside Oxfordshire .. might have been Bucks... will check back and see.

Cheers
Karenlee

Postscriptum..... just went back to thread of 2008 and checked... and William MERCER baptised 16th Aug 1767 baseborn son of MERCER.  Knew it was not helpful, but had forgotten just how unhelpful. :( :(

Check McMullen.plus.com then follow link to surname list. Select Hollioake / Marshall then descendants of Francis Clay and you should find Hannah Mercer 1800-1886. Bapt. 10 August 1800 m. 1823 Wiliam Horton plus much more detail.
