Lookiing for anyone related to Ernest Authur and Edna Brown
« on: Monday 11 March 13 14:28 GMT (UK) »
Ernest Arthur Brown went to Canada from Cornwall, England with Mrs E. Brown  in 1912. They settled in Goodlands, Manitoba and lived there until his death :) in 1935. They had seven children born (*) 1914 to 1927. I would love to make contact with any living descendants to share information about his early life in Veryan, Cornwall, England.

If the family remained in Manitoba you might be able to find references to them in this newspaper archive.  There are no central BMDs in Canada and births less than 100 years old are not publically available.  Marriages and deaths are also protected by privacy laws but are geneally released after 80 years - each province in Canada has slightly different standards.

On the 1916 census of the prairie provinces Ernest Arthur is shown living with wife Ethel and 2 children in Souris Manitoba
His wife's name would then appear to be Edna Ethel as she was shown on a Canadian Voter's List as Edna E. living with one of her daughters in Winnipeg.
Hopefully you can find an obituary for her in the Winnipeg Free Press archives which would allow you to trace where her children went.

Vbain, if you look at the original post Ernest Brown and his wife came to Canada in 1912 and had children together up to 1927, and notes that Ernest Brown died in 1935, therefore the Ernest Brown you found could not be the one alanjean is looking for.

I believe that my father was one of Ernest A. Brown's children. I would be very interested in knowing more of my grandfather's past. When I was a child there was always a bit of a "mystery" about grandma Brown.  Please do contact me!  Thanks
