It appears that Devonport was originally called Flagstaff because of the flagstaff raised on Mt Victoria

Thank you!

I have had a very quick look for the burial, without success.

Flagstaff suggests Devonport to me. What do you think?

Probate @ Auckland for Henry Powning Stark - Shortland, 1895.

Go to: www.archway.archives.govt.nz

Minniehaha.

Noticed in a Court article - 1895 - where the judge commented on the length of time (25 years), before Letters of Administration had been applied for in the case of Henry Powning STARK.

[The file may contain some explanation as to the delay ? ]

Another snippet.

Hi KHP

I looked at that earlier and it seems very likely to be Emma (the 2nd w/o H.P. STARK ).
[The death snippets for Henry Powning STARK suggested that his wife and children had been left destitute.    H.P. STARK had also been declared bankrupt a month or so before his death.]

There were 3 children born to Jacob and Emma JUNG - one of whom (Elizabeth) was buried (aged 5 months) at a cemetery in Thames District.
