From "Papers Past", 'New Zealand Herald' dated 19.2.1866, death notice:

"On February 18th at Flagstaff, North Shore, Auckland, Sarah Jane, wife of Mr. H.P. Stark, aged 38 years". etc.

Interested to know when Henry Powning Stark arrived in New Zealand from Australia. He was born 8 October 1826 in Devon, England. Arrived in Melbourne aged 24 aboard the 'Sirocco'. Married Sarah Cooper 1854? (Pioneer Index Victoria Reg 774). 3 May 1861 New Zealand Gazette lists him as member for Napier in the House of Representatives.

Wikipedia says that his term was brief ... 19 February to 27 April 1861, when he resigned. ??
[Doesn't quite make sense regarding the Gazette entry - though the Gazette may have already gone to print before word of his resignation was known ? ]
