Jersey Baptism Look Up Request - Elizabeth Holman 1850

Hi,

I am trying to locate the baptismal information for Elizabeth Holman b. 1850 on Jersey.  The Holman family seems to have bounced between many of the islands - Sark to Jersey to Alderney and then to Canada.  Not sure why the they moved around so much over the course of 20 years.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Do you know her parents names - were they Joseph & Johanna?  If so - 1861 shows Elizabeth b St Martin Jersey.  The family were in Alderney in 1861

(Did you find them in 1851 - indexed as Almond and image shows Almond)

Thank you for responding.  Yes, Joseph and Johanna were her parents.  I, too, found them on the 1861 census.  I didn't notice the 1851 census - I will look into that. I am trying to confirm that Elizabeth was in fact born in Jersey and the exact date (this will help me establish when the Holmans moved around the Islands).  Do you have any suggestions on how to locate this information?

Sorry  but I don't know anything re: CI baptisms etc.  I have checked on the IGI but there is nothing shown.  Her birthplace is shown as Jersey on both 1851/1861

Thanks.  Can you suggest how I would be able to locate the 1851 census you are referring to?  My subscription to Ancestry only covers Canadian documents/information.

Quite a difference in ages between Edward & James - was Johannah a second wife?

Thanks to both of you!  I have been looking for the 1851 census for months - would never have thought to look for them under Almond!  Hamon, Halmon, but not Almond.  To answer Carole's question, Johanna was actually Joseph's one and only wife.  What is really interesting about this census is that is shows Johanna - 21.  We had thought that she had stayed behind in Cornwall, England (she is not on the 1841 or 1861 census with the rest of the Holman group.  She must have returned to Cornwall before 1861.
