hunter / lowrie

Johne Hunter and Marie Lowrie were married on the 26/2/1632, in Alloa Clackmannan, this has been confirmed by certificate.
Any information on this family would be appreciated, the Hunter families were in the area for many years and the families had up to 12 children in a family.

Hi, welcome!

What kind of information are you looking for? I can see a lot by that name and a variant of Huntar on https://familysearch.org/

I can also see marie listed sometimes as Laurie instead of Lowrie on their childrens baptisms.

Thomas Hunter: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/XY87-8QP

Johne junior: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/XY87-LR2

It does list their marriage too: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/XTL2-CJT

I hope this helps!

this information proved to be the same family and most helpful, I seem unable to find a link to the parents of hunter /lowrie which can be confirmed, one of the unconfirmed possibilities is James Hunter 1565 and Grace Fryit 1586.
Can anyone comment on the parents of hunter / lowrie.
The previous reply was much appreciated.

Hi,
My family are hunters from clackmmananshire. You have gone back quite a lot further than me. Do you have hunter married to Allan or killings 1800

Sorry unable to find any connection to both names, the closest I have to a marriage in 1800 is 8th September 1797, a James Hunter  born 17 Sept1776 married Margaret Hunter (own name) born 9 Nov 1778.
The Hunter family line was in Clackmannan for many years

there are several Robert hunters in the family line, at this point I can find no connection to a Robert married to a J Gordon ? The closest I have to your date is a Robert Hunter born 14/11/ 1802, married to a Janet Paterson on the 10/9/1820.
The oldest Hunter I have a certificate for is, Huntar Johne  7/4/1633,parents, Johne Huntar/Marie Lawrie. If I can find any further info I will advise
