Magic, thank you. Pownall Phipps was eventually John's executor;  Edward Selwyn married another of Rev John's daughters; and the foundry business was the Bowling Iron Company near Bradford in Yorkshire - Rev John got into that via his first wife's family. All fitting together neatly!
