O'NEIL Family from Prescot, Lancashire

Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone might be able to help with details of the O'NEIL family in Prescot.

My GGGG Grand father was a John O'Neil born 1812 in Prescot (st helens). He was transported to Australia as a convict and died there.

I am more trying to find out about his family. I know he had a brother Thomas whow as born 1809.
I know his parents were Thomas O'Neil and Rachel Smith (it seems) who married in 1800 at Farnworth/Prescot.

That is all I know. have tried searching online but cant find anything to link other siblings etc. Just wondering is others may have researched this family and know about his parents and other family?

Unfortunately I cant check parish records personally as am not in the UK.

Any help would be very much appreciated

Thanks for that people. I had not seen that site before. They are definately the family.
Now I just need to try and find the grandparents names somehow..  Not sure how to link them to the parents unfortunately except by guesswork.
