Family mystery brickwall !!
« on: Saturday 30 March 13 10:13 GMT (UK) »
Hello, hope someone can find away through my family brickwall, I have 4 siblings, (*) Taylor born june Q 1931 Nantwich, Martha dob? Sydney dob? and Mary dob?.  Their parents are Sydney Taylor and Martha Brown, married 18/10/1919 at Atcham district Salop.  Martha Brown was born 7th Jan. 1902.  From the marriage cert. Sydney Taylor was born c.1889 [aged 30 at time of his marriage].  The  father of Sydney was given as Vernon [occupation general dealer] and Sydney was living at Greenwood St. Wem, Salop at the time of the marriage. The problem is that I cannot find the births of the siblings of (*), I cannot find any trace of Vernon Taylor and cannot place Sydney to any particular area. I hope I have not rambled on too long and you may make more sense of this than I can, many thanks for any suggestions.

Hi

There were a lot of Sydney and Sidney Taylor births about 1889.  Do you know where & when (approximately) he died? His death registration might help with DOB.

It looks as though his wife Martha may have died Sep qtr 1953 in Wellington, Shropshire - does that sound right? Is there any family memory of whether Sydney died before or after her?

Hi there,

With (*) and her siblings probably still alive we would be unable to discuss their
details on here to guarantee their safety from spam or other identity issues.
The older people mentioned would be able to be researched for you.
I hope you can find out in the end everything you require.

Thanks for all your replies, Sydney was a General Labourer when married, no one served during WW1, (*) is the only sibling alive, its possible that Sydney died in the Newcastle under Lyme area, and Mary may have died at a place called Waters Upton near Wellington, Salop within the last 20 years. (*) was the youngest of the siblings. Sorry to be so vague but the family members never kept in touch and any information is sketchy at best, once again thanks.
