I have an Ann Forster born abt 1843 at Bewcastle (parents unknown) who married a Joseph Elliott born abt 1843 at Bewcastle. They married 1866 at Nichol Forest.

* Nichol Forest Chapelry is a part of Kirkandrews on Esk Parish, being the northeastern portion of the parish and bordering on the parishes of Bewcastle

It would be quite neat to link all the Bewcastle Forsters up somehow

I am researching the Forsters/Foresters/Forresters/Fosters of the Bewcastle area.  I am hoping someone may be able to help with providing a birth date and parents of Joseph Forster born c 1722.  Joseph lived at Oakshaw, Bewcastle and married Elizabeth Hunter in 1774 (he was a widower).  He was buried at Bewcastle in 1784 aged 62.  Elizabeth died at Oakshaw in 1822 aged 69.

here's hoping!!!!

Hi
I have a diocese of Carlisle marriage licence reference for the first marriage of Joseph Forster (I think):
16 Oct 1756
Joseph Foster, Bewcastle, bachelor, yeoman
Ann Pruddam, Brampton, single woman
bondsman: Allen Routledge, Carlisle, gentleman
marriage to take place at Brampton

and for his second marriage: Eliz Hunter being of Toddles in Bewcastle

also possibly for his father George if you are interested.
regards
Deborah
