I am a descendent of Francis Eeles (slightly different spelling) My info has him born 1801 in or near Smarber.
I am new to this forum, not sure how to give viewing access to the family tree, but happy to share.

Also have BDM records from Grinton parish published in 1905. Has records from 1640

There are two Francis Eeles (of various spellings) born a few years apart.  [Information according to my family tree....]  I am sure they will be related in some way.

A relative of mine (William Pedley) married Ann Eele in 1818 at Grinton St Andrew.  Ann is sister of the Francis born 1806 in Feetham, children of James (a miner) and Ann.  Francis was a grocer who married Mary Simpson in 1832 Auckland St Helen and then Ruth Fawell in Q3 1848 Auckland.  William's children Isabella and William Pedelty are with Francis in the 1861 census.

The other Francis Eele was born c 1801 at Smarber.  He married Mary Milner in 1826 Grinton St Andrew and had 10 children and was buried at Gunnerside in 1852.
