 A long shot - but can anyone find Marys name, possibly  from a marriage.  I can`t trace them after 1851.

William Hughes was born about 1811 at Halkyn.
In 1841 he is living at High Gate, Brynford , Holywell, William Hughes 30 leadminer Y
Mary Hughes 25 Y
Edward Hughes 6 Y
John Hughes 4 Y
William Hughes 2 Y
Grace Hughes 6 Mo Y

You could send for one of the childrens birth certificates to find that
this information is Crown Copyright. from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk   London Hall, Thurston Stanley, Phillips, Ayrton, White, Morrish, Smith.    West Ham/Barking Saint,Briggs,   Essex  Barker,   Hampshire  Kill, Kent Spong,   U.S.A Earp, Scotland/Cumbria Templeton, Devon Morrish, Chudley

There is a marriage that fits:-

William Hughes of Holywell to Mary Griffiths at Caerwys on 8th March 1833.

Although, as patrish says, you would need one of the birth certificates to be certain.
