posting this as trying to eliminate certain people from my search,have posted on different boards for this person trying to find a Ellen Ross born 1856 annan as maybe my grt grt granmother any help with this would be useful in either case .have death cert for her and a possible birth cert trying to connect two names Clark and Henderson to her help please regards David

I am showing the links to other posts re: this family as an enormous amount of info has already been given.

To ignore the other posts would be unfair on any member who is unaware of them and who may spend time going over the same ground

This family used different names at different times which makes tracking their records very difficult.  Their children also went under different surnames/birthplaces etc

basically their has been futher research by me carole it does looked like Ellen did use two names but we think or yet to prove Ellen was a named Ross and her mother was a Catherine Ross that married a Clark or lived with a Clark 1871 census Brampton cumbria .also we got further info that a Margaret Henderson on a 1901 census for newcastle was her aunt trying to put the jigsaw together and we think she is down as illegitimate daughter to Catherine
